Looks like we’re going to spend some time in the bad part of town…
Deadline is reporting that Fox has bought a full series of Gotham, a new show focused on Detective Jim Gordon and the dark days of Gotham City before Batman. It is expected to begin airing in the fall 2014 television season. There has been no announcement of who is in consideration for the lead role.
The series will not feature or cameo Batman, according to show runner Bruno Heller (The Mentalist). Gotham joins a full slate of superhero dramas across several networks in 2014, with Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (and in an alternate universe the massively successful The Cape) already on the air, and Flash expected to arrive on the CW.
